HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUDREY HEPBURN
May 4, 1929
"I decided, very early on, just to accept life unconditionally; I never expected it to do anything special for me, yet I seemed to accomplish far more than I had ever hoped. Most of the time it just happened to me without my ever seeking it."
Remembering Audrey Hepburn on her birthday (4 May 1929 - 20 January 1993)
I was in a Benedictine monastery when she died, but even among us cloistered monks her death hit hard. The novice master sneaked a commemorative issue of People magazine into the monastery. We passed it hand to hand and chose Breakfast at Tiffany’s for our next movie-viewing (we were allowed one a month).
She was more than a movie star.
